Dr. Phillips has had a life long love of animals. He knew he wanted to be a veterinarian since starting as a veterinary assistant in high school at the age of seventeen. A native of Georgia and the son of a UGA cheerleader, it was destined that he go to school at the University of Georgia where he has a microbiology degree in 2000 and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. 

His hobbies include being a high school football official, aviation, competitive shooting and reading spiritual literature. He is an Elder at Fort Frederica Presbyterian Church on the island and his faith in Jesus Christ is the most important thing in his life. He has a loving wife, Natalie who is also his high school sweetheart and they only have 4 legged children. His pet include , 5 cats; Reagan(Persian), Harry Winston, Sugar Pop, Kirby and Simon (Persian) and 5 dogs; Bucky Dent (Shih Tzu),  Zander (Shih Tzu), Alfie (Maltishon), Abner (Yorkshire Terrier) and Ziggy (Shih Tzu).

Dr. Phillips loves St. Simons Island and loves being a part of helping the patients at Island Animal Hospital to live long and happy lives with their human companions! His life is dedicated to being a voice and an advocate for the animals!
