St. Simons Island Pet Boarding
At Island Animal Hospital, we will do our very best to make your pet’s stay with us a happy and comfortable experience. Our mission is to provide compassionate care while making your pet feel as at home as possible, when away from home. Our well-trained and knowledgeable staff caters to your pet’s specific needs with personalized care during their stay. As an added bonus, our pet guests have access to veterinary care on site. All of our pet spaces are designed to decrease the stress of being away from home. Our dog boarding area is all indoors, strictly cleaned and comfortably temperature-controlled year-round. We also use calming scents and music whenever possible. Feel free to bring your dog’s own bed or bedding, or we will be happy to provide a soft bed or blankets for them.
Environmental enrichment is key to avoiding boredom and reducing stress. Throughout the day, our dog guests have the option of multiple fun enrichment activities!
- Swim and play in our outdoor saltwater splash pool
- Play fetch in our spacious yard with a ball, Frisbee or other toys
- Spend time keeping busy and working on a peanut butter-filled Kong toy
- Relax indoors with some extra treats and cuddles from our caring staff
Our cats play area looks and feels like home, too! There are soft rugs, toys, comfy chairs and a big picture window that is perfect for watching the great outdoors. Some cat scratchers and loungers provide good spots for lounging or a nap.

Our visitors appreciate the timely feeding schedule for meals that are your pet’s food from home or our veterinary recommended Sensitive Stomach diet, in addition to healthy treats in between. Dogs are taken to the yard a minimum of 4 times daily. Your pets’ medications will be given at no extra charge. For your convenience, check in and out is during our regular business hours, as well as Sunday from 5 pm to 6 pm.
To ensure the health of all our visitors dogs are required to have current Rabies and Distemper-Parvo (DHPP) and Bordetella vaccinations. Cats must be current on Rabies and Distemper (FVRCP) vaccinations. We also require a negative fecal test (within the past year) for dogs.
While your pets stay with us, you may want to use the opportunity to have veterinary services like an annual exam, vaccinations, routine surgeries, and dental care done. Our groomers are also available by appointment to take care of any grooming needs visitors may have.
You are able to communicate all the important details about you pet family through our boarding forms. These forms help provide optimal care so you can leave you best friends with us for as long as needed and know that we will follow your requests.
